This is the rough demo of my visual novel, Like Night and Day. This is version 0.2, with the correct sprite expression changes.

The story centers around two students, Dominic and Rezza, who are forced to work together while having conflicting personalities and work style that hinders progress and creates conflict. Weeks 1 and 4 will explore approaches to work and conflict resolution, while Weeks 2 and 3 will explore organizational diagnosis and organizational change. Only Week 1 will be shown in the demo. Weeks 2-4 will be added only after releasing a finished demo version of Week 1 to the public.

Gameplay-wise, a unique feature is that the narrative's perspective switches every day (excluding day 0) between the main characters. This changes the overall look of the game, with backgrounds and GUI changing to meet the character's signature color. And in the narrative, this allows both character's to voice their feelings about any event and to display both characters' viewpoints.

This is a very rough demo. Many aspects will be added later into this section of the game.
I will be adding:

  • A minigame for training/matches.
  • I will also flesh out the lessons, filling in the placeholders here with relevant management lessons.
  • Transition art that shows Day changes
  • Music and sound effects
  •  Save functionality.

There are bugs in this version that will be fixed very quickly. Most notably is some issues with the dialogue advancing after fade commands are called. There are a lot of 'bugs' with the art that will be fixed in upcoming releases-

  •  Dominic and Rezza's sprites are blurry
  • Dialogue option GUI is still Fresh Start option GUI
  • Text boxes inner edges need to be rounded out
  • Some artistic changes to Lillian's sprite
  • Adding some backgrounds, modifying others
  • I'm sure there's more
